SMALL BOOK SERIES
Since 1972 I have written many encyclopedias with extensive collections of stitch variations. It is now time to do something with a new format - small select collections of stitch variations. I hope to publish about 6-8 volumes in the next couple years . Each "small book" - 5.5" by 8.5" - will be approximately 48 pages in length with one stitch variation per page. I will offer the stitcher interesting variations, many not the common ones found in the majority of books published during the past many decades.

Each page contains a grayscale photograph, general category for the variation, work hints and a numbered-lettered diagram.

Published in 1999, this 31-page book is a one-of-a-kind. It covers the stitches and variations used in the unique colored silk and metal thread embroidery executed in England between 1558 and 1625. These include narrow and wide line and detached stitches. Many b&w photo illustrattions.

Published in 2010, this 48-page book is a one-of-a-kind. The variations offered are not only suitable for backgrounds but also for the filling of elements within a design, a few for shading these elements and ones with horizontal or vertical units can be arranged as a band or border for the design.

Published in 2011, c onsider the basic variations in this 48-page book in a limited color scheme for use as backgrounds, while the more decorative fillings have a wide range of uses - such as, bands and borders, stylized architectural structures and landscape areas, costume fabric, and shapes in geometric designs.
