This project focuses on Jane’s original fillings and patterns, including novelty Japanese fillings, diagonally padded brick stitch, novelty pattern couching on metallic foundation, burden stitch, lattice on satin ground, and layered satin patterns. True to Jane’s tradition, fillings are based on traditional canvaswork and historical silk and metal thread embroidery.  The 9 1/2" square is executed on #18 ecru canvas in four values of silk or cotton floss and a coordinating metallic .

This project focuses on the development of Jane’s original layered fillings and pattern couching over cord padding, all of which have a foundation in historical silk and metal thread embroidery. The 7" square geometric design, inspired by American patchwork patterns, is executed on eggshell #18 canvas with ecru French silk and a variety of Japanese-quality gold threads.
